AbsTract Photography
"Abstract photography is unlike other types of photography. For example, rules, such as composition and accurate focusing hold no values."

Abstract photography is an area that you have likely explored or at least been exposed to before. You probably have some idea of what constitutes a successful abstract composition. We explored abstract photography in Photo I and will continue more in-depth with this next assignment.
For collectors of art and photography, abstract photographic work has a special appeal. The abstract photographer is required to abstract from visual reality. Unlike a painter who can begin with an abstraction, a photographer must start with visual reality and find the abstract composition within the existing visual environment.

In addition, abstract photography has a greater decorative appeal due to its typically uncontroversial subject matter. While a patron may be uncomfortable hanging a conceptually challenging image on their living room wall or in their lobby, an objectively compelling abstract composition, freed from the duty to represent, poses no such barriers.
