Your assignment is to create the best B&W photographic image you are able, using the subject of your choice. 

A good B&W photograph has certain qualities that may not exist in an identical color image. Choose subjects that lend themselves to a B&W treatment...subjects that either A) Are not dependent on color or B) Subjects with a strong separation between lights and darks (contrast).  

Before selecting a subject, please spend some time exploring B&W photographs on the Web--there are many, many sites for you to explore.
