1) Find a copyright-free image of a historical figure--use the tools link in Google Images to insure that the resolution is sufficient for the project.
2) Using your now highly-developed Photoshop skills, contemporize your historical figure into a modern-day icon by changing the clothes, hair, background, etc.
3) Sit back in awe of your creation--then post it to your Blog. If you need to email it to yourself and post it from home, that's fine, as long as it is posted by Friday. (Post the original historic figure too.)
Pay attention to:
1) The resolution of the image--don't make amateur mistakes.
2) The direction of the figure--make sure it matches the direction/angle of the attire, so it doesn't look weirdly contorted.
3) The direction of the lighting in your composition--each component should be lit similarly for the most effective composite.
4) The *Idea. Make your combination meaningful. The connection (or DIS-connection) between your figures and how you choose to clothe and update them and the settings you put them in can be funny, ironic, etc. but there should be a connection.
5) The background/setting...consider the WHOLE image.
*Remember that your 1st ideas will probably be your worst ideas.
